Taco Tuesday the Healthy Way

Taco Tuesday the Healthy Way

|| 5 MIN READ

Taco Tuesday is always a fun idea, but it can be loaded with high-fat and high-calorie ingredients that aren't so great for the body. It doesn't have to be that way to be fun and delicious!

Here are some tips and recipe options to do Taco Tuesday the healthy way.

Making Taco Tuesday Healthier

There are many ways to improve the health of Taco Tuesday without sacrificing any flavor (and even improving the flavor!).

  • Look for alternatives to the meat ingredients that are high in saturated, unhealthy fats. Healthier meat alternatives include ground turkey, and there are also some wonderful non-meat alternatives as well such as vegetables.
  • Replace processed ingredients with whole food and natural ingredients.
  • Swap out white flour or heavily fried ingredients with whole grains (such as quinoa) or get creative using fresh vegetables to replace flour tortillas or fried corn taco shells. Whole romaine lettuce leaves, for example, work great as a "taco shell," and zucchini sliced thin is a healthy alternative to a soft flour tortilla.

Here are some recipes to level up your next Taco Tuesday:
