If you or someone you love has been diagnosed with celiac disease, it might be hard to adjust to a gluten-free diet. The protein, gluten, is found in barley and wheat, which means pasta, breads, cakes, pies, French fries, salad dressings and a host of other items are instantly off the table.

 

As a growing number of people continue to be diagnosed with celiac disease or gluten intolerance, manufacturers are making more and more gluten-free products. However, cooking from scratch — especially around the holidays — can pose a particular challenge.
