 Fall Crafts for Kids

With the leaves changing color and the weather getting cooler, now is the perfect time of year to bring out the crafty side of your kids and give them an opportunity to create fun fall décor for the home. Xtrema Pure Ceramic Cookware is always on the hunt for fun and easy craft ideas that the whole family can make together. We rounded up some of our favorite fall crafts for the kids, with several ideas to inspire you and your little ones this bountiful season. Keep in mind, if you use real pumpkins for any of these, you can easily roast the seeds in the oven using any of our ceramic bakeware.

  • Pumpkin Painting: If you’re concerned about your children using carving knives or you just don’t want to deal with the mess, there is a clean and safe alternative to the tradition of pumpkin carving. Simply choose your favorite colored or glow-in-the-dark marker and draw a scary or silly design on your pumpkins. Although they won’t glow like traditional jack-o-lanterns, your kids will be able to create beautiful pumpkin masterpieces that fill them with pride.
  • Festive Acorns: Fall is a time for nuts, and they are certainly plentiful! Encourage your kids to spend time outside, gathering as many acorns as they possibly can. Put them in one of our ceramic pans and put it in the oven for 2-3 hours at 200 degrees Fahrenheit to dry them out. Once done, around the kitchen table, they can paint the acorns whatever colors they choose. Once the painted acorns are dry, you can artfully arrange them in a bowl to create a centerpiece for your table.
  • Spooky Mason Jars: Ghosts and ghouls are an essential part of Halloween and the whole spine-tingling season. Why not put those spare mason jars in the cabinet to good use? Paint mason jars white and add googly eyes! You can use them to showcase candy or store our silicone utensils for any autumnal occasion. This is a great way to add a touch of fall to your kitchen!
  • Melted Crayon Pumpkins: Let the colorful world outside your window inspire you and your kids to create a magical pumpkin display. Simply peel the wrappers off of your crayons, place them on top of a real or fake pumpkin, and heat them by using a hairdryer. The wax pastels will melt down the sides and remind you of a beautiful rainbow.

These may be fall crafts for the kids, but adults can get in on the festive fun too! We hope that you find plenty of time to spend with family this season and create unforgettable memories.
