Q. What material is Xtrema made of?
A. Xtrema Pure Ceramic Cookware is made of 100% natural minerals, clay and water. It is fired in a Natural Gas Fired Kiln at 2,500 degrees.
Q. What country is Xtrema made in?
A. Xtrema is designed in the United States of America but handcrafted in our ceramics manufacturing facility in Southern China, the country that founded ceramics over 8,000 years ago. Han dynasty, 206 BC – 220 AD. Some experts believe the first porcelain was made in Zhejiang province during the Eastern Han dynasty.
Q. Is Xtrema non-stick?
A. No. We are not advocates of any non-stick coatings. The use of these new coatings has not been proven to be safe and the testing has only been done for several years. There are currently no published laboratory results proving the safety of these coatings. There is no chemical based non-stick coatings on Xtrema. The cookware is pure ceramic and 100% Non-Scratch and it is easy to clean.
Q. Why is Xtrema not made in the United States?
A. Presently there are no Ceramic factories in the United States which have the materials or the trained artisans to make our unique high temperature, handcrafted Xtrema Cookware.
Q. What is the Xtrema Warranty?
A. There is a 10 year warranty against thermal shock breaking during cooking. Xtrema also has a 50 warranty against scratching. We suggest using nylon, wooden or silicone tools when cooking with Xtrema since metal utensils will leave gray marks on the Xtrema surface, not scratches.
Q. Does Xtrema contain any lead or other heavy toxic metals?
A. No. Xtrema is made of 100% all-natural minerals, clay and water and it does not contain leachable lead or any other harmful metals. Unlike many types of metal cookware, Xtrema pure ceramic cookware does not leach any heavy and harmful metals into your food during the cooking process because it is 100% all pure inorganic ceramic.
Q. Is there metal in Xtrema Cookware?

Q. How do I clean my Xtrema?
A. Just like metal cookware – Baking Soda, SOS pads, Comet, Scotch Brite pads, nylon brushes cannot hurt the tough Xtrema surface.
Q. Can I cook with my Xtrema on electric coil, gas and glass top stoves? "
A. Yes, Xtrema works on all these stove-tops.
Q. Can I cook with my Xtrema on an Induction Stove?
A. Yes, but you would need a special induction disk which is designed to fit on top of the induction burner.
Q. Do I need to season my Xtrema?
A. No, just wash with soapy water, rinse and you are ready to cook.
Q. Why are the covers loose fitting?
A. Xtrema’s ceramic material creates additional moisture when heated and the loose-fitting covers allow excess moisture to escape.
Q. Will the bottom of my Xtrema scratch my glass top stove or counter top?
A. No. The bottom of Xtrema is glazed and polished but we do not suggest sliding Xtrema on any surface.
Q. Do I need to use cooking spray, oil or butter when cooking with my Xtrema?
A. Yes – we suggest olive oil, coconut oil, vegetable oil or any other quality oil spray. We do not recommend that you use butter since it has a lower flash point and can smoke or burn when exposed to high temperatures.
Q. Is Xtrema Dishwasher Safe?
A. Yes – but we recommend washing Xtrema by hand because other items in the dishwasher may bang into your Xtrema cookware and chip its surface.
Q. Can Xtrema chip or break if I drop it on to a hard surface?
A. Just like any other cookware product that is made of glass or ceramic, it can chip or break when dropped onto a hard surface.
Q. Do I cook with Xtrema just like I do any other cookware?
A. Xtrema is designed to be used on multiple heat sources: stove top, in the oven, under the broiler, in the microwave, on the grill, in a convection oven and in the toaster oven. Low temperatures are to be used and slower cooking. Xtrema retains heat 50% to 70% longer than metal cookware.
Q. Are there any special instructions for storing my Xtrema?
A. Store Xtrema separately if space permits. However, we sell polyester cookware protectors that will allow you to nest your Versa Pots together without chipping. Do not nest without using our cookware protectors or a towel inside each piece. Another tip is to reverse the covers when storing each pot separately. This will help prevent the covers from chipping.
Q. How do you cook eggs?
A. When cooking with Xtrema Skillets on your glass top, gas or electric coil stove, please start by using a low heat setting then increase to a medium heat. Do Not Go above Medium. When boiling liquids in sauce pots you can turn the burner on to a medium-high heat setting. It may take a few extra minutes for the Xtrema cookware surface to become fully heated but once it reaches the proper temperature, reduce the heat to a lower setting because the Xtrema cookware will retain heat for a longer period of time. Once the cooking surface is heated on a low setting for 2 minutes then spray the entire cooking surface of your skillet with your favorite oil before turning the burner temperature to a low medium setting. It will take a little practice and patience but, in a week, or two you will become an expert at cooking with our Xtrema ceramic cookware.
Q. Can you use metal utensils?
A. We do not recommend metal kitchen utensils with our Xtrema cookware. Metal can leach into your foods and because it is softer than ceramic it can leave metal marks on the cooking surface of Xtrema. The good news is that you cannot scratch Xtrema and that these metal marks can be removed by using dry baking soda and a dry nylon scrub pad or dry Brillo pad. Just rub the metal marks away. Rinse with warm water when done.
Q. Can Xtrema Cookware be used on the grill?
A. Yes Xtrema cookware can be used on a BBQ grill just like on top of the stove.
Q. Does the teapot whistle?
A. Sorry we do not use metal in our teapots, so our teapots do not whistle.
Q. Do the handles of the skillets get hot when cooking?
A. Yes the handles can get hot so please use pot holders or silicone cooking mitts when handling .

Q. How do I earn points?
A. You will earn points for every purchase you make, but you may also earn points through several different activities, including sharing Xtrema on social media, writing a review, or signing up for our newsletter. Point-earning Activities can be found in your
Q. How do I redeem points?
A. From the , navigate to the “My Rewards” tab. Choose the coupon you would like to redeem and click “confirm.” Use that coupon code on your next Xtrema purchase. Note that only one coupon may be used per order.
Q. Where do I enter my birthdate to receive my Birthday Points?
A. From the , click on the “Earn Points” tab. Select “Birthday Bonus” and enter your birthdate. Note that your birthdate can’t be entered within 7 days of that date.
Q. Can I combine coupons?
A. No. Our system only allows one coupon to be applied to each order, so keep that in mind when selecting your Rewards.
Q. How do I earn points by Sharing to Facebook?
A. From the , click on the “Earn Points” tab. Select Share to Facebook and click on the Facebook logo. It will open a small window to log in, type your post, and click share. You will receive points when a friend clicks on your posted link to Xtrema.com.
Q. Why don’t you offer phone support?
A. We offer 24/7 online support via email and through live chat Monday-Friday 10AM-6PM EST. We don't offer phone support because we truly believe it wouldn't be possible to provide the same effective assistance over the phone. We decided to keep our support online for a few reasons:
• We can instantly view the website, product pages, account activity, order history, shipping details and other information so we can troubleshoot effectively.
• It's faster. We can quickly get to the bottom of your questions without putting you on hold.
• Online support keeps detailed records in one place. This ensures nothing gets lost in translation if we need to escalate your issue. We'll always have access to previous tickets, so you won't have to repeat questions.
• If the issue requires a phone conversation, we do allow you to schedule a call with us. Please request a call on our contact page.
Q. What is the return policy?
A. When you shop with us on Xtrema.com, we want you to be entirely satisfied. If for any reason you are not satisfied with your purchase, you may return your unused products for a replacement or refund of the purchase price within 40 days of purchase. You must pay for return shipping; shipping costs are non-refundable. Products older than 40 days are not eligible for return. The return policy is valid on purchases of unused products made directly at Xtrema.com. You must have a valid order number for proof of purchase. For more information, go to our Returns page.
Q. What if I return a product that I have used?
A. There is a 25% restocking fee for products that have been cooked with and that are returned uncleaned. All returns are donated and must be cleaned and in original shipping carton or packed by a UPS Store.
